So began Dark Side Creations, an avant-garde dress shop run out of the Fedorowich’s basement workshop. No cutting, no sewing. Instead, Dave and Kelly spend their days spraying latex over a variety of plastic molds. Once four to 10 layers of rubber have been applied and 30 hours drying time has elapsed, the creations–everything from pink mini dresses to slinky,black evening gowns–are ready to wear.

The skirt part of the garment features impressions of the soles of shoes stamped on to latex material. The budding designer joined the many sole impressions together, then used her own body as a mould for the rest of the dress.

Clover is just one of five Norton Radstock College art and design students who will be starting degree courses in September.

Diane Bendle, Claire Carter and Celia Fletcher will be studying drawing and applied arts at the University of the West of England, and Ellie Pirooz has won a place at Bath Spa University College, where she will study for a degree in fine art.

A sixth art and design student, Laura Hanney, is still awaiting a final decision on her university placement.
