| A national accounting regulator has revoked the registration of Goldstein & Morris, a New York accounting firm, the first disciplinary action by the regulator since it was established in 2003.
The regulator, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, said yesterday that the firm had hidden information from investigators and given them false information. It also barred the firm''s managing partner, Edward B. Morris, from associating with any registered accounting firm and censured two former partners, Alan J. Goldberger and William A. Postelnik. All three men agreed to the disciplinary action without admitting or denying wrongdoing.
The firm''s lawyer, Steven G. Kobre, declined to comment. Mr. Postelnik''s lawyer, Henry Putzel, said he was "gratified" the board had recognized his client''s cooperation. Mr. Goldberger''s lawyer, Daniel J. Horwitz, did not return a phone call seeking comment. |
